iPhone 3G
The Apple product that has been discussed, loved or hated for almost a year. I'm sure you've already read a review on it, so you might as well read one more. And just in case you are not really interested in the iPhone...did you know that the Apple logo at the back of the iPhone 3G works excellent as a mirror? Not that I care so much about my good looks, but cmon, people eat buns with poppy seeds all the time!

PRO: The touchscreen is precize and very responsive, looks very nice. If you have no experience with such a device, it will take a while for you to get used to it, but unless your cellphone must have a hardware keyboard and control buttons, you will get not only used to it, but you are also likely to enjoy it a lot, I do.
CONTRA: The truth about a touchscreen, as good as it can be, is that you don’t feel where which key is and that means you need to look at the phone when typing or doing sth. That might be a big disadvantage to some, especially if you’re used to type an sms on bus while looking out of the window or sth. Using the software keyboard when in a shaky environment (car, bus etc) is also much trickier than the hardware keyboard, however, I believe it's mostly a matter of getting used to it, that is, if you want to.

O2 XDA II
PDA & phone combined
One of the dilemmas for anyone looking to buy a PDA these days is whether to go for something that is GSM / GPRS connected. If you decide you do want the kind of device which can act as your phone as well as your PDA, then the next thing to do is decide whether you want something that leans more towards the phone or the PDA in terms of screen size, features and functionality.
For the PDA side of things, the tri-band XDA II from O2 would be a very compelling choice. Priced at £349 including the cost of a contract (it isn't available on pay-as-you-go yet), you get a lot of value for your money in comparison with other hardware sharing similar features.
The design is pretty functional in terms of looks, and its silver casing isn't exactly innovative, but with this second version of the XDA, O2 has managed to bury the antenna within the main body of the hardware, making it slightly tall for a PDA, but not unwieldy.

The good:
The T-Mobile MDA is fully stocked with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and EDGE support. It also has a 1.3-megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 5, and a Mini SD expansion slot.
The bad:
Unfortunately, the T-Mobile MDA's keypad suffers from poor backlighting and lacks dedicated numeric keys. The MDA's camera also produces so-so images, and the phone doesn't ship with a Mini SD card.
The bottom line:
Hobbled by a poorly designed QWERTY keypad and sometimes sluggish performance, the Wi-Fi and EDGE-enabled T-Mobile MDA makes for an enticing but ultimately mediocre addition to T-Mobile's smart-phone lineup.
Specifications:
Carrier: T-Mobile ; OS provided: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 ; Installed RAM: 64 MB
